Locking Parklands will deliver new jobs and high-quality business space. In phases 1 & 2 the homes reach the Code for Sustainable Homes Level Four – which means that they are 44% more energy efficient than legislation required. This is thanks to energy efficient appliances, solar panels for heating and high levels of insulation which in turn means lower carbon emissions and energy bills and a warmer, more comfortable home. In phase 1 'own front door offices' were built totalling 6,000 sq ft to BREEAM Excellent standard also substantially reducing carbon emissions via energy efficiency measures like photovoltaic panels.
